Fernando Romo, President
Responsibilities include working with Board and Committees in coordinating activities of the organization; serving as chairperson of all full meetings of organization and of Executive Board; serving as chief spokesperson of organization; issuing notice of meetings of organization and of Executive Board to all members; drafting monthly newsletter; working closely with Treasurer and Secretary in administering and maintaining BALRA email distribution list and tracking membership; overseeing website and social media for organization; promoting jobs.
Lauren Barton, President-Elect
The President-Elect automatically assumes position of President the following year. Responsibilities include assisting President as requested; assuming duties of President in the event of the President's inability to serve; serving as public relations liaison (e.g. NALP, bar associations, city groups); and serving as the Board Liaison to the Programming Committee.
Issi Ting, Secretary
The responsibilities include maintaining a record of the members of the organization which indicates all contact information; preparing correspondence for the organization; welcoming new members; work closely with Treasurer to collect dues from members and track status of membership dues paid; update incoming and outgoing members in email distribution list accordingly; publish and distribute an annual membership directory.
Sarra Ziari, Treasurer
Responsibilities include receiving and depositing all funds belonging to organization;processing member dues and working with Secretary to ensure dues are paid in a timely fashion; preparing and signing checks in payment of bills authorized for payment on behalf of organization; primary holder of BALRA credit card (responsible for purchases, payments and reconciliation); maintaining financial records of organization; and preparing/issuing financial reports on financial condition of organization for each meeting.
