Professional Development Specialist


The Professional Development Specialist works closely with the Director of Professional Development in overseeing firm wide professional development initiatives, programs and projects.  This position also assists in associate and paralegal staffing and resource management, and provides day to day support to the Director of Professional Development.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·  Take a lead role in the development and implementation of attorney training, including assisting in assessment of skills and learning needs,
    compiling and analyzing data, and managing in-house training programs.
·   Oversee the tracking of California Continuing Legal Education (CLE) compliance. 
·   Work closely on attorney staffing and overflow issues to ensure full utilization and balanced workload.
·   Assist with the annual career development plan program, implementation of mentoring initiatives and in the execution of internal and external      
    events and programs.
·   Facilitate onboarding, orientation and integration of attorneys and paralegals.
·   Process expense reports, respond to surveys, maintain professional development databases, coordinate calendars and schedule meetings.  
·   Other duties as assigned.

Abilities, Experience, Education

·   Extraordinary interpersonal and writing skills.  
·   Strong planning and organizational skills including excellent attention to detail.
·   Strong sense of client service, work ethic, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
·   Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the flexibility to work overtime   
    when necessary.
·   Polished, professional demeanor.
·   High level of proficiency in MS Office, iManage, viDesktop and SmartSheet.
·   Bachelor's degree.
·   Three years of law firm professional development experience.  J.D. a plus.
