Job Posting: Senior Talent Coordinator (San Francisco)

The Senior Talent Coordinator for Vinson & Elkins’ San Francisco office is a high visibility role that plans and manages the recruitment lifecycle of summer associates, entry-level lawyers, administrative positions and laterals and legal personnel in terms of scheduling, candidate experience and data management; collaborates on professional development, diversity and inclusion and pro bono initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Administer aspects of the firm’s strategies for attracting and hiring summer associates, entry-level and lateral lawyers through the hiring guidelines, resume review process, on-campus and in-house interviewing, candidate evaluation and offer decision-making process.

·         Oversee development and advancement of all lawyers through effective integration, training, mentoring, career development, pro bono, experiential learning and other development initiatives.

·         Collaborate with Talent Managers on inclusion efforts including recruitment, development, advancement and retention of diverse lawyers.

·         Work with Pro Bono Counsel to administer office-specific pro bono projects and partnerships.

·         Serve as a primary contact for all Talent Management matters for office attorneys.

·         Manage assigned budgets to control costs and use resources efficiently.

·         Prepare and maintain reports to carry out the functions of Talent Management.

·         Coordinates the administrative staff recruiting process by entering applications into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and distributing resumes/applications to recruiters; monitors and scores typing and spelling tests administered to applicants; enters test scores into HRIS; initiates background and conflicts checks as requested; creates, maintains and closes recruiting requests; keeps job postings updated on the firm’s intranet and internet websites.

·         Conducts first-day orientation with new employees, including obtaining necessary paperwork.

·         Assists with leave of absence administration and Workers’ Compensation claims.

·         Assists with various Human Resources functions, including wellness, staff appreciation and milestone events..

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Experience: Three years’ progressively responsible experience in a law firm or similar environment required; recruiting experience preferred.

Special Knowledge: Law firm recruiting and professional development.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Firm computer software.

Attributes: Ability to multitask, prioritize and complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance; excellent judgment and able to maintain a high degree of professionalism; react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround; exceptional communication and organizational skills; ability to work with a team of highly-skilled professionals in situations that require diplomacy and confidentiality; detail-oriented; financial and statistical reporting skills; relationship-building skills; people and project management skills; ability to maintain a good rapport with various personnel at all levels.

Other Qualifications: Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and see projects through to completion.

Working Conditions
·         Occasional travel and ability to work late hours.
