Cooley is seeking a Professional Development Coordinator to join its legal education function. The Professional Development Coordinator will be a part of the Professional Development team responsible for working with all practice groups across the firm to implement legal skills training and ensure compliance with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and other regulatory requirements for all firm lawyers.  The Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating legal training programs and practice group meetings for attorneys across all offices and practice groups, and will manage all logistical details. Duties include scheduling, room reservations and set up, invitations, catering and AV details.  The Professional Development Coordinator will also assist with creating and implementing legal training policies and procedures and will maintain firm wide legal training calendars and legal training files.

Candidates must have 3+ years’ experience working within Legal Talent/ HR/ Training and Development within law firms or professional services organizations.  Candidates must also have strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills and must be able to keep information confidential.  Also required is the ability to integrate as part of a wider team as well as work independently, and have good personal effectiveness (time management, prioritization and organization, problem solving).  Candidates will also have intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and SharePoint systems.  Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, knowledge of adult learning theories and usage of learning technologies and management systems such as ViDesktop. Ideal candidates will have the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, and will be proactive, reliable and innovative.
