The Opportunity

We are seeking an Attorney Development Coordinator (mid-level) to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Palo Alto office (hybrid). This position coordinates attorney development and training, including local and Firmwide CLE/non-CLE program planning, California bar admissions and mentor program tracking. Coordinates all attorney employment activities including processes for hire, termination and leaves of absence, and maintains Workday data. Maintains personnel, evaluation and attendance files and coordinates all relevant verifications, clearances, registrations, reports, reimbursements and notifications for attorneys.

Responsibilities

Plans and implements training and professional development programs, often coordinating with the New York office Attorney Development and Attorney Training teams.
Coordinates new hire process for all incoming and lateral attorneys including Workday entry, personnel files, orientation and attorney conflicts clearance process; designs orientation schedule and conducts onboard trainings.
Coordinates attorney bar process, including attorney bar admissions and continuing legal education compliance; preparation of monthly bar status report; processes expense reports for reimbursement pertaining to the bar, including exam, registration and membership dues; processes moving expenses.
Coordinates CA CLE credit, tracks CLE compliance and attorney CLE records in CE Manager; monitors individual attorney CLE status and sends periodic updates and reminders concerning reporting deadlines.
Coordinates attorney departure process including termination packets, Workday entry and announcements.
Tracks and monitors attorney leaves of absence.
Provides coordination and support for attorney evaluations, including inputting evaluations, compiling data in preparation for review meetings, and ensuring timely completion of reviews. Maintains attorney evaluation files.
Provides support to the office diversity, equity and inclusion committee and affinity networks, including scheduling and event coordination.
Completes attorney employment verification forms and Bar Admission Affidavits.
Assists with coordinating and tracking mentor activities and expenses.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities; effectively prioritizes department work requirements
Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
Demonstrates close attention to detail
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
Self-starter with strong initiative and leadership skills
Experience with relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat), with the ability to learn new software (e.g., LawCruit, Workday, CE Manager, Symplicity, viDesktop) and operating systems
Flexibility to travel, adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 years’ related development and/or program coordination experience
Salary Details
The starting base salary for this Palo Alto position is expected to be between $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
